Doughnut Sale raises money for The Childrens Trust - 17/05/2013 We don't generally sell doughnuts as a rule ( Just the equipment to make them with !) . We did however this week hold a couple of doughnut sales for our team and customers and were really pleased to raise a wonderful £52.35 in just 2 days which is a fab achievement with our small team.We even sold strawberries to those of our team who can't have sweet things. I think we can safely say though - that doughnuts are off the treats agenda for at least the next few weeks ! All monies raised will be going to the Childrens trust for children with Multiple disabilities. ... read more |

We Did It !!! - 16/05/2013 Wow what a really exciting day we had yesterday ! Yesterday was the big day of the Record Breaking giant Victoria Sponge Bake here at Brook. It was a day of fun, laughter and lots of tense moments ! Steve Oxford of Oxfords Bakery baked a Victoria Sponge 5ft in diameter for this years 150th Royal Bath and West show getting through over 50lb of flour and over 600 eggs ! The cake took hours to prepare and was so heavy it needed taking in and out of the Oven with a forklift truck ! Take a look at the clip on the news and see the cake bake in action ! ... read more |

Sneak Preview for Old Cleeve Monday Club. - 14/05/2013 We were delighted to welcome Old Cleeve Monday club to Brook Food yesterday on a tour of our showroom. We had 15 of them arrive for a presentation by Ann, followed by lunch and then a tour of our showroom where they got to have a sneak preview of the cake tin in which the Royal Bath and West show's record breaking Giant Victoria sponge will be baked. It was a real pleasure to meet up with the local community. We took donations from them all and were really pleased to raise £30 for Epilepsy Research - a charity close to the hearts of us all here at Brook. ... read more |

Supporting National Doughnut Week - 13/05/2013 Here at Brook we are proud to be playing a part in this weeks National Doughnut Week. For all of this week we are selling our manual doughnut jammers at a fantastic discounted rate ! They are normally £587.99 including VAT. For this week only we will be selling them for just £480 plus VAT and for every unit sold we will donate £20 to The Childrens Trust. EXCITING JOB VACANCY - 02/05/2013 We are looking to recruit someone to our logistics team in the role of HGV driver. The successful applicant will have a full HGV licence (HGV2 or preferably HGV1). Hiab and forklift tickets would be an advantage. You will operate one of our 18 or 26 ton trucks. You will be responsible for loading, delivering and collecting a wide variety of bakery equipment throughout the UK. You will have good communication and customer service skills, be of smart appearance and be able to work as part of a team. This is a permanent position. Record Breaking Giant Victoria Sponge ! - 25/04/2013 We are so excited here at Brook about this years Up and coming Royal Bath and West Show. To mark it's 150th Anniversary, Steve Oxford has been tasked with creating a Record Breaking Giant Victoria Sponge. Steve and the Oxford family have been in the bakery business for generations and have spanned back through 4 generations of Oxfords - he now runs his own traditional Victorian Bakery and even runs our traditional Bakery Course here at our Brook Bakery School - so he is perfectly placed for the job. British Pie Awards 2013 - 18/04/2013 Here at Brook we just love our pies ! So once again we are really excited about next weeks annual British Pie Awards . The pie is one of the icons of British cuisine. Savoury or sweet, the British eat millions of them every year. These Awards are a national celebration of British Pies in all their varieties. Our Easter gift gets Homebaked Anfield Mixing ! - 28/03/2013 Homebaked Anfield, a community bakery based adjacent to the famous football ground, were kindly donated a used old planetary mixer during last year but with no bowl or tools the mixer wasn't of much use! So as an Easter gift, and a gesture of goodwill, we sent up the correct bowl and tools so they could get use from the mixer!
