Brook Food host Cream Tea to celebrate their year of Fundraising

Here at Brook Food, we have been celebrating our 25th anniversary by donating £25 for every order we receive of £1000 or more to a different local charity each month. We are delighted to say that our fundraising grand total is an amazing £21,125!

On Thursday 16th January 2020, we hosted a cream tea party in our Test Bakery, inviting representatives from all 12 charities as well as some other local friends of our company, to announce our final fundraising total and to catch up with everyone, hearing about how our donations have helped them.

Attending the cream tea (and pictured with the owners of Brook Food, Ann and Steve Wells) are representatives for; St. Margaret’s Hospice, MIND, RNLI Minehead, Exmoor Pony Centre, Musgrove NICU, UKIST, Steam Coast Trail, The Fire Fighters Charity, AT West, The Royal British Legion (Watchet), Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and the Taunton Association for the Homeless.

Announcing the total to our guests, Commercial Director Ann Wells said, “Having all our charities here to celebrate the end of our anniversary donations was lovely, to confirm the overall total raised and to hear the individual stories from each of the organisations about how the money we’ve donated has been spent has been really interesting. We have supported 12 local causes who offer a huge cross section of support to different areas of the community. This has been a really great experience for us all, our staff have recognised that their hard work, ensuring the orders we’ve taken are fulfilled, has been a huge contribution in us being able to make these donations.”

We would also like to say thank you to our friends at Glenmore Bakery just down the road for providing the scones, Rodda’s for organising the cream and Tiptree for donating the jam, as well as Roadwater Village Hall for lending us items including the mugs, tables, chairs and we needed to be able to put on this event.
