Little Bakers at Brook Bakery School

Last Friday we welcomed Oak reception class from local school St. Peters to our Test Bakery to take part in a fun day of pizza making, bread baking and learning about bakery machines, of course!

Local baker, Ed from Glenmore Bakery was in charge of demonstrating bread making techniques and teaching the children about different machines found in a bakery. As well as shaping their own loaves to take home the children learnt how bread is made and got to see the spiral mixer, prover and deck oven in action. They rolled out their own pizza bases which were then topped and baked for them to enjoy in the sunshine whilst their loaves were baking.

A bakery themed colouring competition was judged and the results displayed for all visitors to see, we think the children did absolutely fantastically. A huge thank you to teacher Mel Healey, the helpers and all the children who were so well behaved and enjoyed the day a great deal.
