Brook Food donate £1600 to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance
Here at Brook Food, we are celebrating our 25th anniversary by donating £25 for every order we receive of £1,000 or more to a different local charity each month.
We are delighted to say that our fundraising for the year to date has reached over £19,000 with our November donation of £1,600 going to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.
The Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance has been established to provide relief from sickness and injury for the people of Dorset and Somerset, by the provision of an air ambulance service, with an air and road-delivered critical care capability. The service receives no direct funding from the Government or the National Lottery and rely entirely on the generosity of the public for support.
Presenting the cheque to some of the Air Ambulance team on Friday 6th December, Steve Wells said, “It was great to present the £1,600 to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and learn a little more about what it costs the charity to run the services. The Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance is an organisation that helps those in need across the region and to donate to them was a pleasure”.
Charlotte Routley, the Deputy CEO said:
“On behalf of Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, I would like to thank you and all at Brook Food Processing Equipment for your very generous donation.
The cost of an average mission is approximately £3,000 and the charity requires funds of over £4 million to continue our vital service, so your donation is very much appreciated. The helicopter and crew are in operation 365 days per year and since our launch we have carried out thousands of missions, helping those in need across Dorset and Somerset who are in life threatening situations.
Thank you once again for your support and for thinking of the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance”.
